AI Words to Avoid Checker

Paste your own writing and this checker highlights the overused AI words and phrases so you can see exactly what to rewrite.

Runs in your browser · nothing uploaded

This is a self-editing aid, not an AI detector. It flags words and phrases that often make writing read as AI-generated so you can decide what to rewrite. It does not judge whether text was written by a person or a machine.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you paste is uploaded, saved, or sent anywhere.

What was flagged

No flagged words or phrases found. Nice.

This is an overused AI phrases highlighter, not an AI detector. It runs a built-in list of words that make writing sound AI-written (delve, tapestry, leverage, seamless, elevate, furthermore, boasts, testament to, dive into, and many more) against your text and marks every match, then counts how often each one shows up.

It also flags two structural habits: how many em dashes you used and how many three-item comma lists (the rule of three) appear. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing you paste is uploaded or saved. Use it to remove AI sounding words before you publish.

How it works

  1. 1

    Paste your text

Drop your draft into the box. It stays on your device and is never sent anywhere, so you can check private or unpublished writing.

  2. 2

    Read the highlights

Every overused word or phrase is highlighted in place, so you can see the words that make writing sound AI at a glance and decide what to change.

  3. 3

    Check the counts

The summary shows how many times each phrase was used, plus your em dash count and three-item comma list count. Rewrite the ones that repeat and copy the text back out.
