Cooking and kitchen tools

Convert cups to grams by ingredient, scale recipes and fix oven temperatures.

Cooking from a recipe in the wrong units is a pain: cups when you weigh in grams, a recipe for four when you are cooking for two, Fahrenheit when your oven is Celsius. The tools here handle those conversions using the actual ingredient, not a generic factor.

That last part matters: a cup of flour and a cup of sugar weigh different amounts, so the converter uses each ingredient's density. It all runs in the browser.

Questions about the kitchen tools

Why not just use one cup-to-gram number?
Because ingredients have different densities. A cup of flour is not the same weight as a cup of sugar, so the converter uses each ingredient's own density for an accurate gram figure.
How accurate is the scaling?
The math is exact for the ratio you set. Cooking judgment still applies for things like pan size and timing when you scale a lot.
Is anything stored?
No. The tools run in your browser; nothing you enter is uploaded.
Free?
Yes, free and account-free, paid for by light advertising.
