- Is there a file size or length limit?
- There's no cap we set. The catch is that your browser holds the whole track in memory while you edit, so a very long lossless file (say an hour of WAV) uses a lot of RAM and can feel slow on an older machine. A few minutes of MP3 or WAV is instant. If a big file struggles, split it into parts and edit those.
- Can I record straight into the editor?
- Yes. When the browser asks, allow microphone access, and you can record a new track right into the editor, then cut, fade and export it like any other clip. The recording stays on your device.
- Does it work on my phone?
- It loads on mobile browsers, but the editor is built for a mouse and a wider screen. Selecting an exact spot on a waveform is fiddly with a fingertip, so a quick trim on the go is fine, but careful editing is far easier on a laptop.
- How is this different from a desktop editor like Audacity?
- For everyday jobs they do the same core things: trim, fade, amplify, apply an effect, then export to MP3 or WAV. A desktop app like Audacity goes deeper, with plugins, batch processing and multi-track mixing.
