Frequently asked questions
- How accurate are shoe size conversions?
- They're a close guide, not an exact rule. Sizing varies between brands, and even between styles from the same brand, because it depends on the shape of the last. The centimetre foot length is the figure to trust. When you're between sizes, compare that rather than the size number.
- What is the difference between men's and women's sizes?
- For the same foot, a US women's size is about 1.5 sizes larger than the US men's, so a women's 9 is roughly a men's 7.5. UK sizes sit closer to unisex. When you're unsure, pick the category that matches the shoe and check the centimetre length.
- How do I measure my foot length at home?
- Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe, and measure from the wall to the mark in centimetres. Do it late in the day, when feet are at their largest, and measure both feet, since one is often slightly longer.
