Epoch / Unix Timestamp Converter
Convert between Unix epoch timestamps and readable dates, both ways. Paste an epoch and you get the date in local time and UTC. Pick a date and you get the epoch in seconds and milliseconds. There’s a live current epoch on the page too.
This epoch converter turns a Unix timestamp into a readable date and a date back into an epoch, both ways. Paste an epoch to see it in your local time and UTC, or pick a date to get the timestamp in seconds and milliseconds. It handles a Unix time to date conversion, a human date to epoch, and shows the current epoch live at the top. Everything runs in your browser.
How it works
- 1
Epoch to date
Paste a timestamp. Seconds and milliseconds are detected automatically, or you can set the unit yourself.
- 2
Date to epoch
Pick a date and time, in local time or UTC, and read back the epoch in seconds and milliseconds.
- 3
Copy what you need
Every result has a copy button, including the live current epoch at the top.
Instant & 100% private — nothing is uploaded
Everything runs locally in your browser. Your code, text and files are processed on your own device and are never sent to a server — so there are no upload waits, no size limits from us, and nothing is ever stored or logged.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a Unix timestamp?
- It’s the number of seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC, a common way to store a moment in time. Some systems record milliseconds instead.
- Is the value in seconds or milliseconds?
- Ten digits is usually seconds and thirteen digits is usually milliseconds. The converter guesses by size, and you can override it with the unit toggle.
- How do I convert an epoch to a date?
- Paste the number into the epoch box. You’ll see the date in your local time and in UTC as ISO 8601, plus a readable form.
- Why does the date differ from someone else’s?
- The local result uses your device’s timezone, so two people can see different clock times for the same epoch. The UTC line reads the same for everyone.
