- Should I tip on the pre-tax or post-tax total?
- Either is common. Tipping on the pre-tax amount is standard; tipping on the total is a little more generous. Enter whichever bill figure you prefer.
- What is a normal tip?
- In the US, 15 to 20% for table service is typical, with 18% a common middle ground. Counter service and other settings vary.
- How do I split a bill with a tip between friends?
