Frequently asked questions
- How does the EZ grader work out the score?
- It takes the number correct (questions minus wrong) and divides by the total number of questions, then multiplies by 100. So 1 wrong out of 10 is 9 ÷ 10 × 100 = 90%. Every row of the grading chart is that same calculation for a different number wrong.
- How is the letter grade decided?
- By the standard A to F scale: 90 and above is an A, 80-89 a B, 70-79 a C, 60-69 a D, and below 60 an F. The percentage is matched to the band it falls in, so a 72% shows as a C.
- Can I enter the number correct instead of wrong?
- Yes. Switch the input to "number correct" and type how many the student got right; the wrong count and score follow automatically. Some teachers count up from a blank paper and some count down from a perfect one, so either way works.
- How is this different from a grade calculator?
- This one turns a raw question count into a percentage, the way a plastic grading slide-card does. A weighted grade calculator combines category scores like homework and exams by their weight, and a final grade calculator works out the score you need on a final. Use this when you just have questions right and wrong.
- Can I print the grading chart?
- Yes. The chart is a plain table of every number wrong and its score and grade, and there is a print button that opens your browser’s print dialog with just the chart. Print it once per test length and reuse it for the whole class.
