Frequently asked questions

Can I add only a prefix, or only a suffix?
Yes. Fill in just the prefix field to add text only at the start of each line, or just the suffix to add it only at the end. Leaving a field empty means nothing is added there, so you can use the tool for either job on its own or both at once.
Why are blank lines skipped by default?
Blank lines usually separate sections rather than hold content, so adding a prefix or suffix to them tends to create clutter like a lone bullet on an empty row. Skipping them keeps the output clean. Turn the option off when you genuinely want the prefix and suffix on every line, blank ones included.
Does it change the words on each line?
No. It only adds your text to the two ends of each line; the line content in between is left exactly as it is. Nothing is trimmed, reordered or altered, so what you paste comes back unchanged apart from the wrapping you asked for.
