Frequently asked questions

Does a line with only spaces count as empty?
By default, yes. A line that contains nothing but spaces or tabs looks blank but technically holds characters, and those are the lines that trip people up. You can turn that behaviour off if you only want to remove lines that are truly empty.
Can I keep one blank line between paragraphs?
Yes. Switch on "Collapse to one blank line" and the tool leaves a single gap wherever there was a run of blank lines, instead of removing them all. It is the right choice when the spacing is part of the structure.
Will the order of my lines change?
No. Lines stay in exactly the order you pasted them; the tool only deletes the blank ones. Nothing is sorted or moved around.
