Frequently asked questions

How do I generate a new palette?
Press the spacebar, or tap the shuffle button. Any swatch you have locked stays put while the rest regenerate around it.
Can I keep a color I like?
Yes. Click the lock icon on a swatch to pin it. Locked colors are never changed when you shuffle.
What color codes do I get?
Each swatch shows its hex code, like #2563EB, which you can copy with one click. You can also export the full palette as CSS custom properties or JSON.
Are the palettes random or harmonised?
Each shuffle picks a color harmony (analogous, complementary, triadic and more), then spreads lightness so the palette reads cleanly from light to dark.
