Spin the Wheel

Add your names or options, press spin, and let the wheel land on a random winner. A free spinning wheel for picking a person, a prize, a place to eat or anything else, with a satisfying spin and a clear result. Nothing is uploaded and there is no sign-up.

People reach for a random picker wheel when a plain list will not settle it. Type your entries, hit spin the wheel to decide, and watch it land on one name at random, so it doubles as a wheel of names or a quick decision spinner. It works as a random name picker for a giveaway, a lunch spot, or whose turn it is next. Everything runs on your own device, so you can spin as many times as you like.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Add your options

Type each name or choice on its own line. The wheel redraws as you go, with a colour for each slice.

  2. 2

    Give it a spin

Press spin and the wheel turns, slows down and stops on one slice at random.

  3. 3

    See the winner

The landing slice is called out. Spin again, or remove the winner first to draw the next one.

Frequently asked questions

How many options can I add to the wheel?
As many as you like. The wheel keeps the slices readable by shrinking the labels as the list grows, and because the spin happens on your own device there is no cap from us. Very long lists still spin, though a name picker is easier to read once you pass a few dozen entries.
Can I stop the same option winning twice?
Yes. After a spin you can remove the winner and spin again, so each draw pulls from the names that are left. This is the usual way to run a raffle where one entry should not win two prizes.
Are the odds the same for every name on the wheel?
Yes. Every slice has an equal chance on each spin. Put 8 names on the wheel and each has a 1 in 8 chance, or 12.5%, on every spin, no matter which names have already come up. A run of the same result is chance, not weighting.
Can I save my list for next time?
Your current list stays put while the page is open, so you can spin over and over. To reuse a list on another day, keep it in a note and paste it back in; nothing is stored on a server, which is what keeps the tool private.
